The Shimanchu Hajichi Revival project seeks to amplify the practice of Hajichi amongst the Ryukyuan diaspora*.

In the developing stages, we are collecting community member experiences of getting their Hajichi for a multipronged effort: to amplify the modern practice of Hajichi in the diaspora community, to facilitate inter-community connection, and ultimately to promote the practice of Hajichi tattoo ritual and experience.

The information collected here will be compiled into digital resources for public community access.
